A decent day yesterday with the medium #DiamondTreble bringing home some moolah at a healthy 6/1, in fact, of the 16 bets we recommended yesterday on the trebles and the whopper, only 5 lost which is a decent return really if you’d followed them all inplay.  Today is a new day though and there’s a healthy fixture list out there to get involved with.  Time to keep that run going and find another winners as I go goals mad on today’s treble!!

1) Espanyol vs Valencia (Spanish Copa Del Rey, 7:00PM)
Both sides made changes in the first leg of this fixture a week ago and the same is expected tonight as Valencia hold a 2-1 lead going into the 2nd meeting in 7 days.  Changes are expected again tonight but there was still a core of decent players for both sides last week with the likes of Negredo starting for Valencia and Alcacer coming on from the bench whereas Espanyol started with their main striker partnership of Garcia and Stuani too.  It was Negredo’s 86th minute penalty which has given Valencia the upper hand coming into this tie but with the away goal rule, Espanyol only need a solitary goal to progress.  Sergio’s men have to go out and attack tonight there’s no doubt about that, but in Valencia they face a side who regularly score on their travels so I’m not sure they can expect to take the lead and defend it.  The record of goals in this fixture is pretty incredible to be honest and the odds are quite generous when you consider that Espanyol are going to have to attack here.  Their meeting which ended 2-1 last week was the 6th consecutive time and the 9th time in the last 10 meetings that both sides have found the net and it was the 10th consecutive meeting that ended with 3 or more goals, incredible statistics really!  And when you also consider that 4 of Espanyol’s last 5 at home and 4 of Valencia’s last 5 away have resulted in both teams scoring too, you would surely have to expect at least 2 goals in this one!
SAFE BET: Over 2.0 Goal Line at 1.525
MEDIUM BET: Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score at 13/10
RISKY BET: Both Teams to Score in Both Halves at 16/1

2) AC Milan vs Sassuolo (Coppa Italia, 8PM)
Only 7 days ago Sassuolo stunned the San Siro with a famous 1-2 victory in Serie A and that result typified a difficult 1st season in charge  for Filipo Inzaghi at AC Milan.  The hosts are now 8th in the league and their impressive 4-2 win over Real Madrid in a friendly a few weeks back seems nothing but a thing of the past as they have gone on to take the lead against both Sassuolo and Torino only to throw the lead away and collect just 1 point in the league since that win.  Tonight they host Sassuolo for the 2nd time in 7 days as they aim to reach the last 8 of the Coppa Italia and given the recent results of these two sides there could be a shock on the cards.  Sassuolo have been in fine form and backed up that 1-2 win here a week ago with a 1-1 draw against Udinese at the weekend, not bad for a side who a few seasons ago were fighting it out for promotion in Serie B.  I remember watching Sassuolo’s 4-3 win over AC Milan last season when Domenico Berardi ran riot scoring all 4 goals and goals have been one of the stories of Sassuolo, not only with Milan in their previous 3 meetings (4-3, 2-1, 1-2) but also in pretty much every league game since they were promoted.  They’re a very attacking side and with the likes of Berardi, who is still young and learning, as well as Sansone who is expected to start tonight having recovered from a knock picked up in their previous meeting with Milan, they have decent youngsters who are willing to go forward in a fearless fashion.  Sassuolo will be missing Saphir Taider tonight who is away on International duty with Algeria and defender Federico Peluso might start on the bench as he’s still recovering from a knock but aside from that Di Francesco has a pretty much full strength squad to choose from as they aim to cause a 2nd upset in a week here in Milan.  The hosts as you would expect have a strong squad, this is after all AC Milan, although it doesn’t compare by any means to the AC Milan of yesteryear. Cerci could feature tonight after his move from Atletico Madrid and having appeared as a sub in the previous meeting with Sassuolo while Abate could start in defence in place of the suspended De Sciglio.  Up top they have the likes of El Shaarawy and of course top scorer Jeremy Menez playing just in behind, all capable of goals on their day.  It’s a tough one to call on the result front here as Inzaghi’s men could be well up for revenge, but can you really back them after recent events?  Sassuolo will no doubt attack in their usual style and the chances of a Milan clean sheet here are slim to none in my eyes.  If in doubt, go for goals I say!
SAFE BET: AC Milan No Clean Sheet at 4/7
MEDIUM BET: Both Teams to Score at 5/6
RISKY BET: Both Teams to Score in Both Halves at 16/1

3) Chesterfield vs Scunthorpe (English FA Cup, 7:45PM)
Now for an English cup tie as Chesterfield & Scunthorpe fight it out at the Proact Stadium for a 4th round tie against Derby County.  The first meeting between these two finished 2-2 last Tuesday evening and I see no reason why we can’t expect another score draw tonight really.  Both sides are in fine goalscoring form with Chesterfield now unbeaten in 6 in all competitions and Scunthorpe undefeated in 11.  10 places actually separate them in the league but Scunthorpe had an absolutely terrible start to the season and are still on the road to recovery really. It really is a meeting of 2 of the best goalscorers in League One.  Scunthorpe of course have Paddy Madden, the Irish striker who has scored 10 goals in the league this season and has 8 goals in his last 10 starts for The Iron.  In former New Zealand international Rory Fallon they also have experience and though he hasn’t started as often as he may have hoped since his move from Crawley in September, he is an ever present goal threat there’s no doubt about that and has scored 3 times in his 4 starts since that move.  Mark Robins will be unable to field his new loanees Tom Hopper, Jacob Murphy and Liam O’Neil for tonight’s game but he could be boosted by the return of Lyle Taylor, Habeeb Adelakun, Sean McAllister and Isaiah Osbourne who have all been missing through illness.  Chesterfield also boast an Irish striker who has been on fire this season in Eoin Doyle, the leading goalscorer in League One by some distance this year.  The 26 year old has 18 goals in 23 starts for Chesterfield this season including 2 in his last 2 (both penalties) against Scunny and Port Vale.  He’s made 5 previous starts in the FA Cup and has 3 goals to his name and there’s no doubt that he’ll start tonight to try and help his side claim a spot in the 4th round.  All in all I think we have to expect goals here to be honest.  The two have met twice this season, once in the league and once in the cup and those games have finished 2-2 and 4-1.  Both sides have incredible goalscoring talent at this level and with Scunthorpe’s last 9 consecutive games in all competitions result in both teams finding the net, I think we could go double figures with that tonight at the Proact.
SAFE BET: Over 2.0 Goal Line at 1.375
MEDIUM BET: Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score at 11/10
RISKY BET: Both Teams to Score in Both Halves at 14/1
